Obituary

Santos “Tito” Lopez
November 25, 1946- December 16, 2020

Santos “Tito” Lopez, 74, of Waco, earned her wings and began her lifelong dance in heaven on
December 16, 2020. Services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, December 19, 2020 at Oak Crest
Funeral Home.

Santos was one of 9 children born and raised in Waco by her parents, Regina and John Lopez.

She was a passionate and involved member of both the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and
the VFW, where you could often find her dancing on the dance floor or playing 3 to 4 Bingo
cards at once (like the pro she was). She loved big, laughed a lot, and was known for her fiery
sass! In her younger years, her morning routine would consists of coffee and “chisme” with all
of her siblings. The time she spent with her family was held close to her heart.

She raised two children, Regina Chapa and John Lopez, which she loved dearly. In September of
1995, she married the love of her life Joe Manuel Lopez Jr. They went on to spend many years
together traveling to her favorite places like Las Vegas and Oklahoma, trying her luck on the slot
machines.

Tito’s love for her siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces,
nephews, and other extended family and friends was greatly known to everyone she spoke to.
She loved and lived for her family.

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and prayers. A special
thanks to the Ascension Providence medical staff, Providence Hospice staff, and the staff of Senior Care of Hewitt.

I am so sorry to read this notice, she was a friend from Waco High, we called her Santos. I love hanging with her in class or lunch she was always fun and full of laughter. I moved away from Waco right after high school so never had a chance to cross paths again but always thought of her when I was looking back at memories. The Obituary describes "a life well lived" I am happy to know that she enjoyed her life. My condolences to her loved ones. Patsy Russell -class of '65 WHS

Dear Family,
I send my deepest condolences and prayers for your loss. I am so sad to hear of this loss. Tito was a Great Person and I cherish every moment that I got to spend with her while out at community events, dances, and stopping by her house for quick visits, or her coming to my house to have menudo. I will miss the laughs, and your quick wit my friend, but I know you are happy to be with Joe now. Tell him Louis and I said, Hola.

Always your Friend,
Anna Fajardo

I'm broken hearted for I loved my Aunt Tito with all my heart. Too many memories to mention. But I do remember her teaching me how to dance and going to the dances with her . Rest in peace my beautiful angel you will be truly missed.
